6:30pm-8:00pm Welcome Party, Sunbright Inn

This exciting event will introduce the keynote speakers, faculty, and other Assembly participants and serves as the kick-off event for the 2025 Assembly.

9:00am-10:45am Keynote: Comedian and Magician Dana Daniels & His Psychic Parrot Luigi, Community Center Main Room

This session will be a performance by renowned comedian and magician Dana Daniels and his psychic parrot Luigi, followed by a Q&A. Breakfast will be provided from 9:00am-9:30am, and the performance will follow.

11:00am-12:00pm Breakout Sessions 1 & 2

Sessions 1 and 2 are performed at 11:00am and again at 4:15pm, each covering a different topic. Sessions 1 and 2 are hosted on Friday so attendees can attend both sessions that day. Passport and Day Pass holders can see both sessions the same day!

12:15pm-1:45pm Performance Tea, Community Center Activity Room

Enjoy an elegant afternoon tea and hors d'oeuvres on hand-painted China with a live historical performance of famous children's author Isabella MacDonald “Pansy” Alden, portrayed by Alexa Anne Kempson.

2:00pm-4:00pm Excursion around Historic Lake DeFuniak

Enjoy a walking tour of the DeFuniak Springs Historic District on Lake DeFuniak. The tour will start at the Chautauqua Hall of Brotherhood.

4:15pm-5:15pm Breakout Sessions 1 & 2

Sessions 1 and 2 are performed at 11:00am and again at 4:15pm, each covering a different topic. Sessions 1 and 2 are hosted on Friday so attendees can attend both sessions that day. Passport and Day Pass holders can see both sessions the same day!

6:30pm-8:00pm Evening Dinner and Performance, Community Center Main Room

Friday dinner will include a performance by Northwest Florida State College's talented vocal group "Voices of Northwest Florida."

9:00am-10:45am Keynote: Dr. Patrice Williams-Shuford "The Strategic Roots of Black Vaudeville", Community Center Main Room

This session will highlight the strategic creation and dismantling of Black Vaudeville. The lives and works of some of the key figures of Black Vaudeville will be explored. Time will be provided for poignant discussion about the impact the period had on race relations and why it was both a double-edged sword that cut many and a panacea. Breakfast will be provided from 9:00am-9:30am, and the keynote event will follow.

2:00pm-4:00pm Excursion to Chautauqua Winery

Enjoy a tour and wine tasting of DeFuniak Springs's premiere winery! A shuttle will be provided for Passport and Day Pass holders.

4:15pm-5:15pm Breakout Sessions 3 & 4

6:30pm-8:00pm Evening Dinner and Performance, Community Center Main Room

This event includes a variety of interactive Vaudevillian performances from area talents while enjoying an elegant meal. Diners will vote on their favorite performance, and the winner will receive an award.
